HALLOWEEN IS HERE! Although I should be honest and say, I'm not really very used to this holiday. In Norway in the 90's, Halloween was unheard of, and so it's as an adult I've learned about it, made my associations, and decided to tolerate it in all its scary-costume, candy-begging horror, and then let it pass on until Christmas arrives, a holiday I'm 110% comfortable with! Mr.ROK who grew up with and loves this holiday, might even refer to me as the Halloween-Grinch, and he wouldn't be totally off..
There's one thing I like about this holiday though, and that's all pumpkin goodness that surrounds it! Pumpkin soup, pumpkin mash, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, what ever shape or cooking method, come to mama!
Pumpkin is packed full of skin-goodness like antioxidant and flavinoid beta-carotene, vitamin A, B1,B2,B3,B5, and B6, vitamin C and E, Zink and Magnesium. In skin care it has benefits through vitamin A, that soothe and softens your skin, vitamin C, an antioxidant help remedy damage produced by free radicals.
Pumpkin contains natural enzymes that help to dissolve dry skin cells, according to skin care expert Sue Dolan in her book "Naturally Skinsational: Rejuvenating Skin Care Recipes." Due to the high enzyme content, pumpkin foot care products are also very effective for hydrating, soothing and softening dry, cracked hands and feet.
Anti acne effects: Pumpkin contains the acne fighting vitamins E and T, more commonly known as torulitine. Pumpkin skin toners, peels and anti-acne masks promote healthier skin by fighting inflammation, reducing pore size, controlling excess oil and preventing the appearance of pimples, blackheads and blemishes.

I'll be standing ready at the door with candy for the kiddies tonight, this on my face (or maybe not). I might be new to Halloween, but I'm not about to keep the kids from their candy! :)
Have a great holiday everyone!
