One of my new favourite face-masks, I absolutely love this Hydrating B5 Masque by SkinCeuticals! It is a major skin-savor of mine.
The main active ingredient, vitamin B5 or Panthenol is a beautiful ingredient that has many great effects on several skin concerns from acne, to dry skin, and ageing skin. It mainly works as a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air to the skin and increases moisture levels in the skin, as well as elasticity. It is also anti-inflammatory and speeds up wound healing, and is therefore great for stressed out acne prone skin, especially dehydrated and dry acne prone skin, a condition hard to treat. I often recommend the Vitamin B5 gel by SkinCeuticals to my patients that suffer from blemished or inflamed skin.
This is a clear gel-mask that sinks into skin within 10-15 minutes, depending on how much you put on. I like to put on a semi-thick layer before a flight or at night as an overnight mask. If you want, and if it has been absorbed properly you can add on an extra layer of sunscreen or cream, I like the Weleda Skin Food cream for an extra protective layer now that it's been so cold in Sweden and Norway.
