This Saturday me and fiance where so lucky as to go to the Formex fair here in Stockholm, Scandinavia's biggest interior design exhibition. Following are some of the trends I noticed, and my favorite stands.
There was a definite trend of deep blue colors all through the exhibition, which suits me just fine since blue, and especially deep and stormy blue are one of my favorite colors. Loved these paintings we passed by, wouldn't mind having one on our new living-room wall.
We were looking for inspiration, but went in to search out specific items we need for our new place as well, one of those were mirrors, and yes, we did find one, kind of similar to this one.
There was also a lot of focus on naturla materials I found, a trend that we've been seeing in the health and beauty world for a while. Shapes were organic, and there were at least 3 stands focusing on the soft skins of lamb, perhaps one of these will find it's way into my bed, and stay there forever.
A Marine Theme
With the blue tones, there was also a definite trend of a marine theme going on. Lots of old cast up looking wood, blue and turquoise ceramics, and pictures of boats and stormy seas.
Found a dirty-pink stand, had to capture it. Dirty pink is my favorite shade of pink - the color scheme of this site might have given it away already.
There were quite a few cosmetic stands as well. I really liked the look of this one, and L:A Bruket. They have the same brown medicinal bottles, and reminded me a lot of aesops design actually.
My favorite cosmetic stand, they had a number of great organic products, that would look good on any shelf. My favorite was their "burnt wood" and "tabac" scented candles. Here's my man, sniffing one.
